OnlineNIC, Inc. Is Blocking My Domain Transfer Request
It’s March 18 when I remembered to transfer my domain (edarevalo.net) to Godaddy from Philhhosting.net. After I checked out and acknowledged the domain transfer request, I contact Philhosting immediately for them to give me the authentication code. They gave me the code, but I had to request for it thrice since those they gave me did not work.
After few days when the third code they gave me worked, I was notified by Godaddy (gaining registrar) that to fully go on with the transfer, the losing registrar should accept/confirm/authorize the transfer and then right after, I will be notified through e-mail to finalize the domain transfer.
Unfortunately, the domain transfer was rejected a couple of times so I decided to contact Philhosting. As usual, they were not helpful (ever since I hosted with them). They told me to re-try the transfer but it was rejected again (and again) by the losing registrar.
After series of wasted e-mails with Philhosting, they told me that they have nothing to do with the rejection of the domain transfer, but it’s OnlineNIC, Inc. where they purchase domains. So I guess, not only me, but other customers of Philhosting are unaware of it.
They even told me that I should contact OnlineNic, Inc. I believe they should be the one contacting them, but to avoid wasting more time, I had to contact them directly.
It’s April 2 when I contacted them and requested for the confirmation and approval of the domain transfer again. Here’s what they told me:
“We are sorry that there is unstable connetion error occured in our transfer programme recently, so it is recommended that please try operating more times late, we believe that this question will be solved soon, thank you.”
I did what they have told me but still it didn’t work. I was getting upset then so I sent them another e-mail and here’s their reply (notice the errors as well):
“Soirry for any inconvenece caused. We rellay met the technical problem of transferring out domain here, please trust OnlienNIC never reject any legal domain transfer here. Please kindly wait more time and submit the domain transfer later. Thanks for your kind understanding.”
For few times, I kept on reminding them of the issue and my request. I even asked them of a specific time or date they can possibly fixed this but they didn’t answer my question and also kept on replying with their usual responses (or shall I say templates?).
“As a registrar, OnlineNIc would not block any transfer-out request from the customers, or it would be considered disobey the ICANN policy. Please trust us that we do meet some touble which happen on the transfer system and our techs are working on fixing the problem. You may kindly have a retry to initiate the transfer after days later. Of course, we will inform you at once when the system works well again. Really thanks for your kind understanding and patience.“
At the middle of my domain transfer request, here comes Philhosting that instead of being helpful, they are sending me a billing notice, specifically a domain renewal notice. This really pisses me off.
What’s even worse was OnlineNIC’s response to me last April 3:
“Recently, we are adjusting our transfer programme with the good intention of serving you better. During this period of adjustment, the transfer-out is likely to be affected negatively.
So, domain may not transfer out for temporarily. Thanks for your kind understanding. We suggest you had better to renew it at first to avoid further trouble .”
Seriously? They are asking me to renew my domain? What the hell. I’ve already paid for the domain transfer and I DON’T WANT TO RENEW my domain. I’ve done my part to inform them early of the transfer-out and it is their fault to have “technical problems” as what they claimed.
If there is anyone liable here, it is OnlineNIC and not me.
I also contacted them through their hotline but no one answered my calls. I also attempted to re-dial but I’m getting a busy tone after one ring. Somebody might be dropping the calls and ignoring me.
I even tried to contact them via live chat but on my first attempt, someone named “Cecilia” dropped the conversation. On the second attempt, I was able to talk to “Hummy” but on the latter part of the conversation, he/she was not responding anymore. Is that what you call customer service?
This is an obvious blocking of my domain. Maybe they think I have no way out of this but renew and extend my service with them. If they are into obeying ICANN’s and Federal Trade Commision’s policy, they should not be doing this unethical business practice.
If it’s really true that they are encountering problems with their transfer-out system, they should have an alternative or a contingency plan.
After all, I want an assurance from OnlineNIC that my domain will be not affected by their problems or NEGLIGENCE. They should not offer me discount or force me to PAY and renew my domain with them, instead they should just shoulder the fees or expenses brought by their issues. If they don’t want to, JUST TRANSFER-OUT MY DOMAIN.
With this, I am appealing to the online community to help me out with this one, to let everyone know how OnlineNIC handles this simple issue, how this company treats their customers, and how they violate consumer rights.
My domain is expiring on April 14 but OnlineNIC is obviously giving me LAME excuses for to renew my domain with them.

I suggest you lodge a complaint to ICAAN and Verisign, I believe you will have problem transfer out due to their domains freezed by Federal Court.

The Whois is reflecting an extended date..but basically that doesn’t mean that the domain has been renewed..
you know what I would suggest..renew the domain with those guys asap before they start playing a different set of stupid games..
once done transfer it to any other popular registrar..I am currently housed with Answerable.com, you could always do the same or look out for other registrars to work with

TAMSSAC.COM
The transfer request for the following domain name(s)
has been denied by the losing registrar:
MUEBLESVERONA.COM
Customer are very disappointed with this and they need transfer their domains to their new registrars. Also they’ll file a complaint with ICAAN if there are new troubles.
Also this is a serious trouble for us too. We can’t work with a compnay that do this type of facts.
Please, start the transfer again and AGREE the transfer out for MUEBLESVERONA.COM and TAMSSAC.COM

This trouble is from march 25th, 13 days ago.
At any case customers need transfer out following domains:
MUEBLESVERONA.COM and TAMSSAC.COM
If automatic system fail then you must transfer these domains manually.
They not want renew with us or Onlinenic. You and we’ll have serious legal troubles if you can’t transfer these domains inmediatly.
At any case it is not an acceptable policy for us that our customer can’t transfer their domain.
Please transfer manually domains MUEBLESVERONA.COM and TAMSSAC.COM .

Please transfer out manually these domains inmediatly or give a reliable solution.

For domain mueblesverona.com: Expiration Date: 18-apr-2009
For domain tamssac.com: Expiration Date: 20-apr-2009
We want not renew these domains with Onlinenic and Onlinenic can’t transfer them to another registrar´.
So, Do you think extend the registration period? or renew for free or what is your solution for no renew these domains with Onlinenic????

If both domains expire and we can’t renew them. WHAT IS YOUR SOLUTION FOR THIS?.
At any case, if tomorrow friday we have not a response about it I’ll file a complaint with ICAAN about your service, I’ll write in all forums about your worst service and we’ll transfer our 500 active domains to another registrar.
Because we’ll no pay you for these renewals if we lost domains, also our company take legal measures against your company.

cleverdot, a Israel-based reseller of china-based onlinenic/china-channel, won’t tell the truth about the matter, and onlinenic lies directly to its customers (stating the transfer problem is software related).
U.S. officials should shut-down onlinenic/china-channel from doing business in the U.S.
onlinenic owes verizon $33 million, as a U.S. ruled against china onlinnic.
Here is a direct statement from ICANN, issued early May 2009:

Similar Problems here. WHOIS Says OnlineNIC is our Registrar. Contacted OnlineNIC and they say it’s their “Partner Company” or “Authorized ReSeller” DataNeuron. (Or was that ‘DataMorons’?) That company seems to be a Total Fraud. Their Website has a Support Contact page that doesn’t go anywhere but into an endless loop of ‘Push your Back Button and Resubmit’ Our original Hosting Company, ChallengeHost, (or was that Challenged Host) Makes constant fraudulent claims that they have provided the service requested, then asks for Renewal Fees when nothing is Due!
These Interconnected Shadow companies need to be Stopped, Put out of Business, and have their equipment seized to pay for the damages to good faith customers.

You have a pending status.. I have all the transfers rejected. I have to manage bulk transfer- but there is no possibility to transfer even one domain… I’m fed up with OnlineNIC.

YES. onlineNic is very bad. I submited my domains transfer on 1 JUNE, But all were rejected by onlineNic, and I have sent the email to ICANN, but have not got any feedback from ICANN until now.

I have had over 50 domain names registered with ONLINENIC.COM for more than 9 years. Their service has always sucked but they were cheap. You get what you pay for. I have been trying to transfer 2 domain names since June 2, 2009 and every day they give me the same excuse ” our techs are working on this.” It is a complete LIE!
Someone needs to go after this company and get them shut down and our domains released. I have contacted ICANN and others with no help at all.

OnlineNic SUCKS! 4 months and still I can not get my domain transfer code, does any one have a phone number so I can call these people. I am in Canada how do I sue them if their based in the USA, call me it’s toll free worldwide: 1.877.286.4665
